The Red Centre is the place where you will find the most famous monolith of Australia called Uluru as well as Ayers Rock. The biggest town in the area is Alice Springs and the remainder of the population is being scattered in smaller communities. The oxidized iron in the soil gives the whole area its distinctive and immediately recognizable reddish glow.
